Another Brilliant Week in Haughmond Class!

What an incredible week of learning and excitement we’ve had! Here is a quick update on everything we’ve been up to:

️ Victorian Vehicles

Our budding engineers have officially completed their Victorian Vehicles! These will be coming home today.

A quick note on the wheels: Unfortunately, due to a shortage of wooden wheels and another class needing them this week, our cars are currently “body-only.” However, this is a great opportunity for some home experimentation! If you have materials at home, we’d love to see what creative solutions you can find to get those cars rolling.

I-Rock Superstars!

We had an absolute blast at the I-Rock concert this morning! It can be very scary to perform in front of an audience, but everyone did a fantastic job.

A massive congratulations to our very own Haughmond superstars: Elsie, Archie, and Hugo! You were amazing. For anyone interested in joining the band, I am sending home letters today regarding extra availability for I-Rock sessions.

What We’re Learning

  • English: We are busy preparing for our final write of our story, The Three Little Monkeys.

  • Maths: We have been working super hard on measurements. With the way the children are mastering the scales, I think we have some talented future bakers in our midst!

  • Spellings: Results were amazing this week! Our new Emile scheme is working brilliantly—keep up that fantastic effort!

️ Important Reminders

  • Homework: A reminder that homework now consists of daily reading, TT Rockstars, and Emile for spellings. All children have their login details.

  • No Rules Day (Thursday 26th): Organized by our amazing PTFA! I’m personally very excited to wear my pyjamas to school—but DON’T TELL MRS. ROBERTS! Remember, it is 50p for every rule broken.

  • Exotic Zoo Trip (Friday 27th): * Wear: PE Kits (but legs must be covered—leggings or joggers only, no shorts/skirts for safety).

    • Footwear: Comfy walking shoes or trainers you don’t mind getting a bit dirty!

    • Bring: A packed lunch (if not pre-ordered), a water bottle, a coat, and a school jumper.
