Notes from the Music Room 5
It’s been an exciting week teaching music for Mrs. Kessel-Fell and Mrs. Roberson. Mrs. Kessel-Fell has enjoyed rehearsing your harvest songs with you and hearing you sing with such enthusiasm. She was also very pleased to welcome new members to choir. Everyone sang very well and whilst learning ‘Ol Town Road’ and ‘Shotgun’ to add to choir’s repertoire. Well done and members are always welcome!
Mrs. Roberson was very pleased to see how many pbuzz instruments would be going home soon. Any children with permission and suitable bag for it took their pbuzz home on Thursday, so hopefully you’ll have heard them in action! For the children that didn’t have a suitable bag can bring one in next week to take theirs home, either fabric or a sturdy plastic bag is fine. If you haven’t returned a permission slip and would like your child to bring the instrument home, please speak to the school office.
Grinshill, Stiperstones and Wrekin all worked hard to continue to learn to play a piece of music and Music Community Group are steadily learning ‘Star Wars’ and ‘Harry Potter, Hedwigs Theme’ as well as working as a group to improvise individual solos as part of a Blues performance. Excellent work from all involved!

On Friday we visited Aston Hall in Birmingham as part of our learning about fire this term. We explored the house and took part in a workshop all about the Great Fire of London. We dressed up as some of the important people from the story, including Thomas Farriner and Samuel Pepys. We also learnt to write with a quill, in the same way that Pepys would have written in his diary. We had a great time!
