In Pimhill we have been learning about Easter. We have looked at the Palm Cross. The cross reminds us Jesus died on the cross. The palm leaf tells us about Palm Sunday. Jesus entered Jerusalem riding on a donkey with crowds waving palm leaves and shouting Hosanna. We acted out this part of the Easter story.

Pimhill world book Day
We had great fun in Pimhill dressing up for World Book Day.
Can you guess who we are?
Pimhill and the animal man.
We really enjoyed the animal visiting us today.
Here are some of the photos of us having fun.
RSPB bird watch
During forest school this week we tried to see as many different birds as we could. We were very lucky to see a red kite and a buzzard looking for prey and other more common birds. The children will be bringing home a sheet to see if they can identify birds in their garden.
Friedensreich Hundertwasser
Friedensreich Hundertwasser believed houses should be beautiful and like nature have no straight lines.
We have looked a photographs of his houses in Vienna and have begun to create our own. We drew wavy lines, circular, square and arched windows and added lots of detail. Next week we will add some colour just as Hundertwasser did.
Seasonal change
As part of our work on seasons we will be following what happens to a tree in forest school. To do this we made a wooden marker disc to mark our tree. Kris helped us saw the disc. Mrs Foster helped us drill a hole and other adults helped us tie string through and write our initials on it. We then went to find a tree to hang it on. The tricky part will be remembering where our tree is !
We will be looking at how the tree changes throughout the year.
Signs of winter
This week in forest school we were looking for signs of winter. Luckily the weather allowed us to find lots. We loved seeing the snow drops and finding sheets of ice.

Pimhill Overview Spring 2023
Happy new year and welcome back.
It has been great hearing about the children’s news and what they have been up to during the holidays. During the Christmas holidays I have seen many social media posts about what children do, not what they receive that is important. I can categorically say that what the children wanted to talk about was what they had done, who they had seen and where they had been. It sounds like you have all had a good holidays.
Here is the overview for the term, As always with EYFS it can be flexible and the children lead the learning hence the supertato day last term that took place because of their interest in the book.
