Its  another sunny day I hope you are managing to get out in your gardens and enjoying a daily walk or bike ride.

Today continue the white Rose maths from the link yesterday.

For English this week have a go at instruction writing the National academy has a set of lessons you can use for this.

There are 5 lessons to complete linked to the story Sam’s Sandwich it is one of my favourite stories. You will need to think of minibeasts of your own so if you can have a minibeast hunt.

Phonics is on education city and on the Twinkl home learning.

This afternoon go out and have a look for mini beasts. How many can you find? Tally the numbers. Which is the most popular? Here is a sheet to record your findings or you can draw some of the minibeasts you find.

Monday 20th April

Good morning Pimhill,

I hope you all had a lovely Easter holiday  with lots of chocolate and you were able to do some nice things with your families.  I’ve been gardening painting and doing lots of reading in the sunshine.Have you been listening to Oliver Jeffers reading stories? He is one of my favourite authors

How about starting your morning with Joe Wicks live P.E.? I will be joining in with my children to work off our Easter eggs!

Maths 

Maths is going to be a little bit different this term. Each Monday I am going to give you a link to a week’s maths lessons that you can follow and complete the activities each day. All the weeks are on one page so you just need to check you’ve picked the week with that Monday’s date.

I know that not all of you are able to print out the activities, so you can just write the answers and your working out in your book.

Twinkl home learning hub are continuing with daily phonics lessons so continue each day with these. Reception can choose between the 3-5 or 5-7 lessons. Year 1 just the 5-7 for you!

Good morning Pimhill

I hope you are all well. It looks like its going to be a sunny weekend I hope you get to play out in your garden or go on a walk. Here in Ellesmere people have bears in their windows so  children can go on a bear hunt. Perhaps that something you can do in Bomere.

For those looking for new reading Twinkl has a link to Phonics mini books on the home learning hub. Reception read level 2 or 3 and year 1 read 4 or 5.

It look at ways to make 8. you can print it out or draw your own spiders.

Good morning Pimhill I hope you weren’t April fooled yesterday.

Continue with the phonics and maths  on Education City  and Reading Eggs.

Today on the Twinkl Home Leaning Hub  page are some riddles  to do with foods. Have  a read of them. Can you have a go at writing some? You get your family to  guess what you are. You could try a different theme animals, dinosaurs, insects. have some fun with it.

Try the farm yard phonics sheet untitled you can follow the link and print out or just write the words you can see. use your sound mat to help you.

Happy April fool’s day Pimhill

I hope you are starting the day with Joe Wicks.

Carry on with Education City and Reading eggs.

Look on the Twinkl home learning Hub and complete the maths aged 5-7 both reception and year 1 can complete this.

On the 3-5 page it talks about subitising choose your favourite Numberblock and show how many different ways you can make them.

You can use paper or blocks / lego you have at home. Remember you can watch Numberblocks on iplayer.

Continue with the maths and phonics on Education City and the reading /spelling activities on Reading Eggs

Today she if you can do an extended piece of writing you can choose any topic you are interested in.

Have a look at the links a story and PowerPoint about recycling and write some information about how to recycle.

Remember use your sound mats, remember finger spaces. Use a capital letter for the start of your sentence and proper nouns. Use a full stop or question mark at the ned of your sentences.

Read through and check your writing makes sense.

Twinkl home learning 5-7 have maths activities for numbers to 100. Have a go at these Reception you might need some help. If they are too tricky look at the 3-5 activities.

There are also some sorting activities on Science materials on Twinkl home learning and I have linked some education city games to these.

Today Chester zoo are doing virtual tours of the zoo. Have a look at the timetable and together with you sibling/s and decided which animal you would like to learn more about.

As you can’t come to the zoo right now, we’ll bring the zoo to you!

So, break up the boredom of being at home and, for the first time ever, enjoy a whole day of animal antics, live from your sofa! 🙌

This morning follow the Twinkl home learning phonics Age 5-7 for both reception and year 1 ( don’t forget the activities on education city too)

Maths – doubling and halving  There are activities on Twinkl home learning 5-7 for both reception and year 1. You need to learn your doubles off by heart so see if you can get someone to test you.

You can play ‘number tennis’ you need two bats and no ball. One person shouts a number between 0-10 and pretends to serve the ball. The other person has to say the double and pretend to hit the ball back. Have fast can you return the pretend ball? Don’t forget to test mum or dad!

There is also a story to listen to and activities to go with it.
