Young Minds – How to support pupils’ emotional and mental health
This is a difficult time for all of us, in many ways.
At Bomere Heath we continually support pupils with improving their mental health and give them strategies to support themselves and each other. Obviously, as schools close and there is reduced face-to-face contact between pupils and teaching staff, so here is a link to Young Minds, who have plenty of advice:

Small Paul – A Tale of Positivity!
In these worrying times, here is a lovely, short and simple story to help us all, but especially our pupils:
Advice for children worried about Coronavirus
Please rest assured that we are dealing with pupils’ concerns around the current Coronavirus issues. However, the link below is fantastic for helping parents allay their children’s fears – and is also useful for older pupils to use themselves.
Cross Country – Bomere Heath’s County Success!
We are very proud to announce that Jessica, of Grinshill Class, has won the all-Shropshire Cross Country Championship for Year 3 girls. She had previously won the North Shropshire Championship to qualify for the event held at the Shrewsbury Sports Village on Tuesday 10th March 2020.
School Value of the Month
Our value this month is Respect for God’s World – pupils will learn how to respect God’s world, about people who have shown this respect, sing hymns and say prayers to help them think about God’s World.
Food Bank Donations
As part of World Book Day, some of the children suggested that we should bring in donations for the Food Bank at St. Barnabas Church in Shrewsbury, in order to help the people affected by the recent floods. Our donations will be taken to the Food Bank this weekend where they will be distributed to those that need them.
Thank you to everyone that sent something in.
Look what a lot of donations we have collected!
NSPCC – Buddy came to visit!
We welcomed a team from the NSPCC (and their mascot Buddy!) to school to work with all pupils on how to stay safe – their message is Speak Out, Stay Safe.
Children learned what constitutes abuse, who to talk to if they feel unsafe and the number to call Childline – 0800 11 11.
Year 5 and 6 pupils took part in an additional workshop aimed at developing pupils’ understanding of specific dangers online, who their trusted adults are and how they can help themselves and each other stay safe.
