Homework 14th October 2022

Topic

Through our learning this half term we have been finding out about significant people within black history. This has included Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman, Mae Jemison and Marcus Rashford. The children have expressed interested in finding out about other people, such as Serena Williams. As it is Black History Month, for your homework I would like you to research another individual within recent or older black history who has made an impact on society in some way, or is an inspirational figure, and create a factfile about them.

Maths

  1. The children are today bringing home a copy of their completed Maths Smash sheets from this week. Maths Smash is an activity which supports the rapid recall of key number facts and which the children complete each week. They complete the same task each week until they achieve a green score (41 – 50), when they move up a level. Please could you help the children review their work with where they have made mistakes and help them to practice the key facts.
  2. Please remember to have a go Times Tables Rockstars. We need to make sure we know our 2, 5 and 10 times tables really well by the end of Year 2.
