Free Audiobooks!

Whilst school is closed, Audible are offering children the chance to listen to some FREE books! There is a wide range available at https://stories.audible.com/start-listen

Listen to the stories with your child, ask them questions about the character or plot (to check they are listening carefully!) and, most of all, enjoy them!

Pupil Work – School Closure

Please find the necessary links for access to work for our pupils:

https://www.educationcity.com/

https://online.espresso.co.uk/espresso/login/Authn/UserPassword

https://readingeggs.co.uk/

https://ttrockstars.com/

In addition, we also recommend the following websites:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/primary

https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/news/watch_newsround

In addition to the work provided above, there are some resources available to supplement any work from school:

Classroom Secrets have produced some worksheets designed to keep pupils busy during any school closures. They are designed to be printed off, but they may also be used ‘on-screen’ with pupils writing their answers in their exercise books and parents checking them using the answers provided! There is a link on this page to each year group with plenty of work to do! No password is required.

Classroom Secrets

Twinkl is offering every teacher in United Kingdom access to all Twinkl resources with a One Month Ultimate Membership, totally free of charge. They are also extending this to every parent and carer in the school so the pupils can still have access to high-quality learning during any periods of disruption.

Setting this up is really easy to do – go to www.twinkl.co.uk/offer and enter the code UKTWINKLHELPS

Young Minds – How to support pupils’ emotional and mental health

This is a difficult time for all of us, in many ways.

At Bomere Heath we continually support pupils with improving their mental health and give them strategies to support themselves and each other. Obviously, as schools close and there is reduced face-to-face contact between pupils and teaching staff, so here is a link to Young Minds, who have plenty of advice:
