Grinshill Class Bulletin
Harry Potter virtual lesson
This morning, Grinshill, Stiperstones and Wrekin took part in a virtual lesson from Warner Brothers Studio London. The lesson was led by ‘Evanna Lynch’ also known as Luna Lovegood.
It was a creative lesson all about describing our own magical settings.
Ask your children to tell you all about this lesson.
Rocks in Grinshill
Over the last few weeks we have been learning about the properties of rocks, the three main rock groups (Sedimentary, Igneous and Metamorphic) and where they come from. This week, the children have been using chocolate to make comparisons to the different rock types and how the rocks are formed on our planet.
Of course they all loved tasting the rocks too 🙂

Spellings – You should be practising 2 or 3 words from your half term list each week.
Reading – Read chapter 4 from ‘Robochef’ on fiction express, remember you can choose, level 1, level 1 lite or audio, then answer the questions.
Homework – Thursday 14th September 2023
Please find this weeks homework – I have spoken to the children in class about this weeks homework. They all have their logins and passwords for Fiction Express. They all understand what they have to do. On fiction express there are three different versions for chapter 1;
- Level 1
- Level 1 Lite (Slightly easier with less words)
- Audio – (Access via speaker at top of page, children can listen to the text and follow the story)
Please do not panic if you think this is too hard for your child, even when listening via the audio, your child should be able to complete the test at the end.
I understand that the year 3 children are a little anxious about the expectations for this year, please don’t worry, in a matter of weeks it will feel normal. It is quite a jump academically from year 2 to year 3.
I have had conversations with Mrs Greggory about individual children and what their limitations are, she feels that what I have set this week is well within all capabilities.
Homework due in by Wednesday next week.
Thank you
Kind regards,
Mrs Roberts
Coats
A small reminder that your child should have a waterproof coat in their bag everyday please, as we still go outside in light drizzle.
Thank you
Roald Dahl Day!
