Today we have been investigating owl pellets as part of our topic on skeletons.
The children had to work out the age of the pellet and which owl it belonged to. Once inside the pellet they had to pull out the bones and identify the animal that had been eaten.
Hello Grinshill,
I hope you have all had a fabulous Christmas and enjoyed spending time with your family.
This term we are moving onto a new topic – Crime and Punishment.
This term we will be having swimming lessons, so, for the first half term our PE days will change. PE kits need to be worn on Thursday and Friday please.

I look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday 4th January 2023
Mrs Roberts
Lots of parents are interested in what we learn across the term in more detail.
So, I have attached a sample timetable (subject to changes across a week) that we follow and some knowledge organisers that give slightly more detail about what we are learning.

Here are our Stars for Friday 6th January 2023!
We have awards for Star of the Week, Presentation, Maths and Writing each week.
This week the children learnt how fossils are made, linking to their prior knowledge on rocks and soils learnt earlier this term.
This week the children collaborated to make a Mayan Calendar using clay. It was so much fun and the children looked carefully at a picture to help them replicate it.
Today, the school council members from Healthy Helpers carried out a Health and Safety audit of the school.
They walked around the entire school with the caretaker Mr Jones and Chair of governors Keith Lister. They made sure the school was safe and identified any issues that may need addressing. The children were very thorough and carried out their roles fantastically.
Welcome back everyone!
.I hope you have all had an enjoyable summer and are looking forward to the Autumn term.
This term our topic is ‘The Ancient Maya’. We have a trip booked (Letter will be out shortly). I have included an overview of all subjects we are covering this term.
