Last week of term

Our students will be working hard as they complete their amazing art pieces, and we are very much looking forward to seeing their creativity shine.

We are also delighted to share that an Olympic athlete will be visiting us on Friday. This will be a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to feel inspired, ask questions, and learn from someone who has shown such dedication and determination.

As we look forward to the upcoming half‑term break, we hope all our families enjoy a well‑earned rest. Please remember to stay safe, stay healthy, and take time to recharge.

We can’t wait to welcome everyone back after the break, refreshed and ready for a new term!

Miss Reese and Ms Jones 🙂

What a wonderfully busy week we’ve had in class!

The children have produced some truly beautiful diary entries, inspired by Kawa from our story My Name Is Not Refugee. Their writing showed real empathy and imagination. We also enjoyed exploring the work of Paul Klee, recreating some of his distinctive artwork in preparation for creating our own pieces in his style next week.

In maths, everyone has been working brilliantly on their times tables and showing great determination. Our topic lesson was especially interesting as we began learning about the Victorians, gathering fascinating facts ready to dive into what life was like for children during the Victorian era next week.

It’s been a full and exciting week of learning. Wishing everyone a lovely weekend with plenty of rest, ready for another great week ahead.

This week in class

We’ve had a wonderfully busy and creative week in Haughmond class, full of moments that made us proud of how confidently the children are growing.

In PE, the class threw themselves into some brilliant dance work. It was fantastic to see so many children stepping outside their comfort zones, trying new movements, and supporting one another with enthusiasm and courage.

In English, we continued exploring our class texts in greater depth. The children have been developing thoughtful ideas and using them to inspire some truly beautiful messages written for refugees. Their empathy and care shone through in every piece. You’ll find a few examples of their work in the photos shared on the website.

To finish the week, we will be stepping into the world of art, exploring the colour wheel and discovering how artists use colour to express mood and meaning. The children will then take on a focused task using shape and block‑painting techniques to create artwork inspired by Paul Klee. We’re excited to see their creativity shine as they experiment with these new skills.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support. We’re looking forward to another exciting week of learning and discovery.

Science on Mondays

Please could all Haughmond class bring wellies or shoes you don’t mind getting muddy every Monday for the next couple weeks as we are doing a lot of outdoor learning in Science. This should come out in a parent mail too but please pass the message on.

Thankyou

Miss Reese 🙂

Outdoor learning- Science

We had such a great afternoon exploring our own habitat. We were looking at microhabitats and what animals we would find. We predicted what we would find and we were correct with our predictions. We looked at each insect we found in detail identifying what it was. It was so nice to see all the children exploring and learning outdoors.

School Closure Update: Tomorrow

Due to the heavy snowfall and for the safety of our students and staff, the school will be closed tomorrow. While we are shut, I have set some optional learning activities to keep your brains ticking over: please spend some time reading your books, practising your spellings in your homework books, and working on your 2, 5, and 10 times tables.

However, since we don’t get snow days very often, I truly hope you take the time to wrap up warm and enjoy the weather! If you can, please take some pictures of your snowy adventures to share with the class when we return. Stay safe and warm, and we look forward to seeing you all on Monday!

On Monday please could children bring in wellies or shoes you don’t mind getting dirty ready for fun we have planned for science 🙂

Welcome Back – Happy New Year 2026

We hope you have all enjoyed a wonderful Christmas break. It’s a very chilly start to the New Year, and we are closely monitoring the weather. We will keep you updated with any changes that may affect you and your child.

We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow at 8:40am. Please ensure your child comes to school wearing a sensible, warm coat, and consider adding gloves and a hat for playtime, as it is very cold outside.

Tomorrow is PE day for some classes (Haughmond), so please dress appropriately for the weather. Leggings or joggers may be needed for outdoor activities. Remember to stick to school colours and plain clothing with no logos, except for the Bomere Heath logo.

Rest of school in full uniform.

To enjoy the winter weather please bring wellies to go on the field, but bring school shoes to change into.

All staff are excited to welcome pupils back and begin a fantastic new year of learning and opportunities together!
