The Queen’s Jubilee Green Canopy
To start our celeberations for The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee we planted 5 trees as part of The Queen’s Green Canopy.
In the rain Pimhill went out to dig the holes.
The sun shone when represenatives from each class came to plant a tree with Kris our Forest School lead and James Reynolds our govenor.
Lara led us in prayer .
In the afternoon Pimhill finished the planting and watered the trees.
Thank you to Albrighton Estate who donated our trees.
Ukraine Day!
Thank you to all the parents, staff and children who supported us for Ukraine Day!
Everyone looked amazing wearing yellow and blue.
We were visited by Marianna and her friend Oksana. We learnt about their charity work and how they are supporting those from Ukraine.
We also learnt a few words in Ukrainian.
Thank you for your donation, we had a great day.

Stiperstones Class Spring Term Overview!
Welcome back Stiperstones, it’s been lovely having you back in class and working hard. We have lots of exciting things happening this term. Take a look at our topic overview to see what we’ll be getting up to.
There is a few changes this year in terms of days that things happen. You will need to come into school in your PE kit on Thursdays and Fridays. You will be going swimming on a Friday afternoon for the whole term. Homework will now be given out on a Friday and needs to be back in school on Wednesday. Pbuzz and Percussion will still take place on a Thursday.
Reading Challenge
Today we are launching our ‘Reading Challenge’ and this time we have linked your child’s reading to several journeys around the world.
It’s not that easy to travel at the moment but we are thinking about people all over the world. Why not read your way around the world with the Reading Miles Global Challenge.
Collect 500 reading miles for every 30 minutes you spend reading, with a parent, carer, or your brother or sister. You could even video call your relatives and read aloud to them. You just need a signature, amount of time read and time you read at. Collect reading miles in a special reading passport on your very own reading world tour – a whopping 33,000 miles in total! Reading counts between 8am and 7pm.
The challenge is split into seven journeys, each of which finishes in a ‘checkpoint city’.
The following resources are available to download and print off to enable you to take part in the challenge.
• A wall map of the world charting the Reading Miles Global Challenge route
• A passport to record the reading
• A certificate for when you complete the challenge
• Postcards which you can complete when you reach checkpoint cities.
• All children that complete the each journey challenge will have their names entered into the draw to win the reading challenge box of goodies. Complete all 7 journeys and you will have 7 entries, so a much better chance of winning.

The passport will be kept in school and updated by the class teacher.
We hope you will enjoy and support us with this reading challenge.
Kind regards,

Stiperstones online learning – Tuesday 5th January 2020
Hi Stiperstones class,
Happy new year!
I hope you have all had a lovely Christmas break.
For today, until you have passwords to access your learning in real time via teams, I will upload work to this class page, as we did during the last lockdown, so that you can do the work from there.
English
For English, I am going to ask you to write a diary entry about your Christmas holidays. This is what we would have been doing in class today.
You can either choose a single day to write about, or write about a few days. Either way, make sure you include lots of detail, including expanded noun phrases to describe (with commas between adjectives (e.g. the giant, beautiful, green tree) and adverbs to describe verbs (e.g. I woke excitedly).
Remember to focus on your handwriting, ensuring you write joined and as neatly as possible. Also, think about your basic punctuation – this needs tightening up!
Remember full stops to end each sentence and capital letters to start each new sentence and for names of people or places (proper nouns).
Maths
In maths we were going to be multiplying and dividing by 6.
Here is a video to follow so that you can still do the same learning.
Here is the maths worksheet that corresponds with the video –
Multiply and divide by 6 work sheet
You will need to have this to work on at the same time as playing the video. The video will tell you when to pause the video and complete each part of the sheet. If you can not print the sheet, do not worry! You can write your answers on paper or in a work book.
Reading Comprehension
For reading comprehension, please read the text and then answer the questions in full sentences.
Mo Farah Reading Comprehension Activity
P.E
As we were not in school on Monday and this meant that P.E was missed, please follow this Joe Wicks exercise video as our first P.E session this week.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhHY8mOQ5eo
R.E
For R.E, please can you create a mind map of everything that you think of when you think of the word ‘God’. There are no right or wrong answers and all ideas are valid. You can even draw a picture in the middle of what you envision that a ‘God’ may look like.
Remember everyone, you will also need to be accessing Times Tables Rockstars throughout lockdown and will also need to be reading for at least 15 minutes a day to an adult.
Additionally, I will upload your Spellings onto the Stiperstones spelling page on this website each Thursday like usual.
Keep up the hard work and feel free to email Mrs Winwood on her admin email address if you have any questions for me or if you would like to show me any of your fabulous work.
Stay safe Stiperstones!
Miss L-J
