Stiperstones Class Spring Term Overview!
Welcome back Stiperstones, it’s been lovely having you back in class and working hard. We have lots of exciting things happening this term. Take a look at our topic overview to see what we’ll be getting up to.
There is a few changes this year in terms of days that things happen. You will need to come into school in your PE kit on Thursdays and Fridays. You will be going swimming on a Friday afternoon for the whole term. Homework will now be given out on a Friday and needs to be back in school on Wednesday. Pbuzz and Percussion will still take place on a Thursday.
Money Matters
Yesterday, Wrekin and Stiperstones took park in a PSHE game show. They were visited by White Socks Theatre Company. They played games and competed for points which represented money. They learnt about the value of money and how to keep it safe.
They all had a great morning.
Ask your child what they learnt.
Stiperstones Homework
Homework will now be given out on a Friday and to be handed back in by the following Wednesday.
Reading 20 mins everyday and TT rockstars will be every week.
Additional work will be given out in orange homework books.
Thank you
Mrs Quigley and Miss Horton
Mobile Phone Safety – Help Your Children!
Do you want to help your child use their mobile phone safely?
We know that some of our older pupils have their own mobile phones and we regularly talk in classes about how to stay safe whilst online or using their phone.
I have seen a useful resource from EE that is designed for parents and carers of older primary-age children – it allows grown-ups to fully understand how children use their phones, how to help them identify risks and also gives children a ‘PhoneSmart Licence’ if they complete the ‘course’!
You simply need to register yourself, then set-up your child’s profile, then they can log-in and complete some fun online activities with you to show they understand how to use their phone in a ‘smart way’!
In this world of changing communication and media use, it is really worth while taking control of helping our children – I hope this is useful and I would appreciate any feedback!

The Bomere Beagle – Issue 1
Hi everyone! I am proud to publish my Newshound Club’s first issue of their school newspaper – The Bomere Beagle.
A dedicated group of Year 5 and 6 pupils have been working hard to explore and write news stories about our school. They will publish the newspaper every few weeks throughout the year.
We hope you enjoy reading it and if you have a story for them, please let us know!
Mr Field
